Michelle Price joined NTI in February 2016 as the Deputy Director and Director of Research Operations. She works with the leadership team on operations and management of NTI and has oversight for all research programs affiliated with NTI. Before joining NTI, she was the Director of Finance & Administration for the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) for nine years. She held other administrative roles at UTHSCSA prior to this including executive director for the South Texas Injury Prevention Research Center.

Dr. Price is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Surgery Department at UTHSCSA and at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She has co-authored scientific articles on injury prevention, trauma systems and physician workforce issues. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in counseling from the University of Houston and completed a doctorate in the Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas - School of Public Health. She also completed a pre-doctoral fellowship in injury prevention that was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and the Society for Public Health Education. In 2008, she was named one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 “Rising Stars.”
