Pam Bixby serves as Director of External Relations, with responsibility for the organization’s communications strategy, public relations campaigns, coalition building and advocacy outreach. She brings nearly 25 years of communications and leadership experience to the National Trauma Institute—including service as Executive Director of the U.S. Green Building Council Central Texas – Balcones Chapter and nearly a decade as Director of Communications for the top-rated McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.

Pam has served on and led a variety of nonprofit boards in the Austin area, including the Travis Country Swim Club, the Travis Country Community Service Association, the Austin Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, and the Austin Children’s Choir. She holds a B.A. in English and psychology from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania and an M.A. in English Literature from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
