Did you know that NTI does not just fund research? We provide many other services for trauma researchers too. The next three blog posts will describe some of our other capabilities. Examples of the services we provide for research administration include:

  • Development and distribution of national Requests for Research Proposals
  • Coordination of peer-review including:
    • Pre-proposal review
    • Full research proposal review
    • Award determination
  • Conduct of feasibility and site selection for multi-institutional trials
  • Management of meetings with awarded investigators
  • Management of investigator workshops to initiate and develop research protocols
  • Dissemination of study results to multi-disciplinary military and civilian trauma providers

NTI welcomes new Board Member Dr. Steven Shackford

Dr. Shackford is Professor of Surgery and Attending Surgeon in the Trauma Team Medical Group at University of California—San Diego. He has authored or co-authored over 318 scientific papers, 28 book chapters and 3 monographs, mostly relating to secondary brain injury and the effect of hemorrhagic shock on the injured brain. He is on the editorial board of several surgical journals and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Trauma. In addition to his interest in trauma he is an active vascular surgeon.
